A glass dining table can add to any decor and most would agree that they are timeless but is a glass dining table right for you?

Most would-be-buyers have the same concern with purchasing anything glass.  Obviously the thought of a piece of glass that size shattering in the home can be in front of any consumers thoughts.  Fortunately safety is typically the number one concern of the manufacturer as well.  Glass dining tables have never been more safe but just in case, you should always inquire as to whether the glass table top is made of safety glass.  Safety glass is typically shatter proof, is pretty resistent to heat and can handle the general wear and tear accompanied with the use of a dining table.

Another factor to consider before purchasing your glass dining table is the maintanence.  A glass top will generally require a bit more cleaning than your typical wood table.  Children tend to leave streaks that will stand out more on glass than wood.  Keeping your glass cleaner handy for these situations, also remember that crumpled up newspaper is great for use with glass cleaner and your glass table top.  Just lightly spray your glass table top, then use the crumpled up newspaper as you would a regular washcloth drying the glass in a circular fashion.  Wax-on, wax-off!

Find a Glass Dining Table

Once you know how much you are willing to spend, it is time to look for your glass dining table.  Here is where the price your willing to pay comes into play.

There are probably quite a few furniture stores in your local area that sell glass dining tables but they don't always satisfy when it comes to pricepoints or quality.  In those cases it is almost always better to do your shopping online.  If you don't want to pay for shipping you can always see if your local furniture store can find what you found online.  Just print out a picture along with the specifics of the table and take it to them!

Another place to look for a glass dining table is good old Craigslist.  It is amazing what you can find on Craigslist with a little diligence and patience.  Many people selling on Craigslist simply want to do away with the item in question so getting the most for the item is not exactly a concern.  It is not out of the question to find a thousand dollar glass dining table on craigslist for as little as one hundre dollars!  Now that is great shopping.
